Woodworking Classes

The woodworking program was developed at the request of CIS male members and is open to all. The first project undertaken was the design of plate holders for the ceramic plates made in the CIS Visual Arts program. The class is also making jewelry boxes, picture frames and holiday ornaments for other CIS programs and events. Students initially are learning to use deep cut coping saws, curving tools, drills and sanding paper.

Future Vision

As the Woodworking class of students progresses, they will undertake more advanced projects such as decorative country style, miniature chairs, Chinese style chandeliers, vases and candle holders. These projects can be sold or given as gifts. Projected Date of Improvements/Upgrades: July 2012
